Before you begin
Explain who has the problem, how they deal with it today and what your approach changes. Show what you have tested and name the assumptions that remain. Tailor the next-step request to the person listening. Practise answering questions about delivery, alternatives and customer access. If you do not know an answer, say what you will test. Clear thinking is more useful than a polished claim you cannot support.
Build the pitch around a situation
Open with the customer and a concrete problem. For example, a small supplier loses time reconciling approvals across several message threads. Explain how the proposed workflow changes that situation, then show the evidence you have gathered. Avoid jumping from a broad industry trend to a claim that your idea has a ready market. The listener should be able to understand the task without knowing your preferred technology.
Match the request to the conversation
A customer conversation may end with a request to test a prototype. A potential collaborator may need a clear description of the role and time involved. These are different from an investment conversation. State the next step you are asking for and what each side would need to do. If a number or claim is uncertain, label it as an assumption and explain how you plan to investigate it.
Practise the questions, not just the script
Founder Pitch Planning includes listening when the audience challenges your explanation. Prepare to discuss alternatives, access to customers, delivery work and unresolved dependencies. Write down questions you cannot answer and investigate them before repeating the pitch. Use Women in Tech Business for problem framing and Planning Your Founder Work Session to turn feedback into a focused set of actions rather than an endless slide revision.
