Before you begin
Choose one outcome, gather the relevant notes and set a realistic time box. Separate ideas from decisions so discussion does not erase the reasons for a choice. Finish with named actions and dates. Review the result at the next session. Carry forward only the actions that still matter. A consistent rhythm of small decisions helps a venture move without requiring a perfect long-term plan.
Give the session a single outcome
An example ninety-minute session might finish with a first customer-interview plan. Gather the current problem statement and notes before starting. Spend the opening minutes agreeing which decision must be made. Park unrelated ideas in a separate list so they are not lost but do not consume the session. A workshop can be useful even when the output is a short written brief rather than a polished presentation.
Separate exploring from deciding
Use one part of the session to collect options and another to choose the next action. Write the reason for the choice, the information still missing and the person responsible. If you are working alone, make the same distinctions in your notes. Time boxes are prompts to focus, not reasons to force an answer where important evidence is absent. An explicit research task can be a valid outcome.
Make the next review easy
